Have you ever had the slightly unpleasant pleasure of wondering around art galleries? walking into a space full of beautiful (or not so beautiful) art, only to want to turn around and run right back out in shame?
Where near the door a beautiful Icy gallerina sits, never even picking up her head to look at you let alone smile or say hello - It makes you wonder how they expect to do any business with this kind of interpersonal relationships - or lack there of.
Well, turns out that they have no intention of doing business with you, as this blogger says
I had gathered that the function of the galleries was to build a buzz about the work, which then adds to the prices paid by the real customers - the ones who sneak in the back door (and get to use the bathrooms), or better yet, stay in their zillion dollar apartments and send their representatives, or let the works come to them.
The gallerina is not really ignoring you - she is just busy doing her job - looking for potential clients, emailing them pictures advising them and so on…. you just happened to walk into her office - or so it seems…
Knowing this actually will make it a lot more pleasant to go into galleries now - I can do what I came for - Look at art, and the gallerina can do what she came for - her job… in a lovely live and let live harmonious way.
