Its funny how things connect, and how once you have stumbled upon an Idea, you tend to meet with it everywhere you turn.

A while ago I wrote a post called Daily Inspiration, about Elizabeth Perry, who makes a point  of doing on little painting a day in her sketch book.

Now, it seems, there is an initiative called Make28

MAKE28 began as a challenge to make one thing every day during the month of February. This is for those who keep making things.

Deana wrote about her experience taking part in Make 28.

I am just about ready to join the challenge. It would be good for me to commit to making something every single day, and to avoid procrastination, and kick out the perfection bug that is on my case for most of the time, I think that I will limit the time I can spend on this to 20 minutes a day.

Julia Cameron who wrote The Artists Way got a lot of people doing morning pages - the definition of which is to sit down first thing in the morning - before anything else (coffee teeth whatever) and spew out 3 pages, no matter what. Also, you are not allowed to show them to any one, or even supposed to read them (if I recall correctly) - in this way, you get the junk out of your mind, and the creative juices flowing, without involving ego, judgment and all the other things that tend to hold us back in our creative process. I did this for a good few years, and think that now is the time to return to it, in a slightly different manner. Maybe a water color a day, because I am so unfamiliar with water colors, it could be fun.
