Thanks for sharing. As an old desert rat myself, and an artist, I too discovered the wonderful effect achievable photographing sunlit objects against deep shadows, as you did in 'test33' for example (the lechiquilla seen from above). At first I thought the coloring had been computer enhanced, but then saw that it wasn't. You have whetted my interest in returning to a once-familiar subject and perhaps stoked my presently cold creative firebox.
