Fuji has announced a 6.0 megapixel camera that is going to be selling for around $500(USA), to appear on the market in January. If you were thinking of getting a camera for Xmas you might want to wait awhile, since the competition will be working to catch up and the prices should come down even more as a result.

I'm waiting for the digital/SLR morphs to come down from $1500. Lenses are more important than pixels and the digital/SLR will allow lens changes and manual focus.
p.s. a good column on technology is 'Fast Forward' in the Washington Post.
