Funding in the UK

Is there any resources on the fabulous interweb thingy on best ways to get funding for arts projects in the UK, also a list of companies that offer private funding would be good.

Infact anyone on here have experience of going through the funding process in the UK.... or is this newsgroup just reserved for fiteing and flying naked trolling
