Hello, I'm trying to learn how to draw and sculpt, and I'd like some personal instruction and guidance. I'm interested in fantasy, classical, and realistic art. I wondering if any of you know how one finds an art tutor, where such people might advertise their services (the halls of an art college would be an obvious choice, I haven't yet looked, is that the best or is there a better choice, since art students are already receiving instruction?). I'm in massachusetts, 15 mi. sw of Boston, in case any of you are in my area and are considering taking on students. I basically want to learn to understand shape and become a proficient sculptor, starting perhaps with drawing. I'm 28, somewhat disfunctional due to a back injury and chronic fatigue, so I'm having trouble motivating myself, but art is my calling. Any advice most appreciated.

Hello Miserai,

Seems you have been left on your own. Guessing from your address I live on the other shore of the pond, in Finland,Europe. There is not much I can do for you personally, but please keep posting - or at least mailing to me - and we can see what we can do over cyberspace.

Alt.sculpture is perhaps a friendlier forum. Welcome to the club.

In the lack of mentors, fellow students are the next best thing. - lauri
