Julie Beugin is a young artist whom I just discovered through Leah Sandals blog - Unedit My heart.
Sometimes, when I am surfing aimlessly around on the Internet, a word or the composition of web page or a picture will grab my attention and pull me out of my surfing daze.

Julie Beugin

That’s what happened with Julie Beugins water color that was posted on Unedit my Heart. Something about the Fluidity, made me stop. It looks like the picture something passing through dimensions (as in alternate reality kind of dimensions, or through the looking glass) dreamy yet nearly accurate.
Leah Sandals has an interesting interview posted with her about her work, which started of as paintings of cardboard models, exploring imaginary spaces and the fluidity of them thru the instability of cardboard, via the fluidity of paint… I love seeing process evolve over time in an artists work, especially when that work is appealing to me, as in this case.

cardboard

I love cardboard as a media. I love its malubility, its color, the way it feels when you handle it, and what it feels like to walk over it barefoot.

These paintings (which I had a hard time chosing between, dipcit that very acurately. you can see the order they were painted in and how the media and topic moves from paintings of cardboard models into something else.

seven gothic tailes - the deluge at nordereny

I am curious to know what her next move will be.
