<Snip account of how to market modern art>
I have a friend whose daughter is an artist who does some very strange art. She is very proud of her daughter, but often feels like carrying a placard on opening night saying 'We didn't beat, starve or emotionally abuse her. Promise.'

FunNEE! Only in this 'politically correct' day and age would a parent think of defending themself against what others might think about their offspring's self-expression.
Actually, not so funny when I stop to think about it.

Funny that the parents of politicians, the military and other terrorists don't feel the need...

Well, military children wouldn't go down well in every family, and for politicians - I suppose it would depend on the party, and some terrorists' parents certainly regret the actions of their children - I witnesses a very moving account on CNN a few months back at the mother of one of the suicide bombers grieving for her child and all those he killed.
Besides, this art is done with human blood.
