I use raw pigments a lot with my various tempera works and I am trying to put together a palette that is going to be composed of wholly (is that possible?) safe pigments. Can people offer me suggestions? Perhaps you use a particular palette that you consider safe. I would like to see the results if possible.

That site is worth knowing. Still my problem is complicated by the general variety of names given to pigments and the fact that suppliers often mixz the own without being very explicit on their contents. How bad it gets is that I have even seen so-called safe makeups being advertised on the net that contain manganese. Another good site I have come across is http://www.ci.tucson.az.us/arthazards/medium.html which has a good database.
