Do you know of a site that gives information on making plaster frames? Thanks. Jean

[Generally, frames aren't (weren't) made from straight plaster, but from a combination of plaster and glue called 'composition'. This is applied to a wooden understructure, which gives it more stability than a solid plaster frame would have. The gilding goes on top of a layer of fine clay which is applied to the composition. (See Wies Norberg's watergilding FAQ, on my site under Resources/FAQs for details of this process.)]

Thank you! I have been reading on this site and it is very interesting. I actually asked this question for a friend of mine and have emailed her the link. I think painting is easier than the making of frames so I will leave that to others.
