similar to alex grey

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine recently showed me the artwork of Alex Grey. I am very impressed with his use of amazing colors and overall style. I really like his use of the human figure as the main subject in many of his paintings. Basically I was just wondering if Alex Grey is unique in his use of these stylings? I was wondering if anyone could recommend similar artists that would either compliment his work or just blow my mind anyway.

Too bad their bad figuration, otherwise they might be interesting for their use of color.

hey, i checked out his stuff. I liked his use of colors, but i really enjoy grey's use of the human figure. do you know of anyone else that is similar in that respect? most of the fractal images that came up where computer animated spheres and such. I really appreciate alex grey's use of paint and canvas. basically, i see fractal images as cool to look at for a while, but i kinda want to buy a print from a notable artist to hang in my apartment. thanks though, i liked checking out this kind of art too.

Don't misread me. His art is not collectible, if that is your goal.

Cheap flashy figuration is OUT and went out at the end of the 80's.

The works you directed me to were more the sort of kitsch you find in a mall. I know a guy who is trying to unload 75 (yes seventy five) Peter Max original paintings and he can't sell a one for the same reason you wouldn't find grey's work worth a cent ten years from now.

Ughh just give the man some suggestions, Not your damn art views. I hate you suedo art know-it alls who think there form of art is always right, Ughh get the paint brush outta your arse......
