When I'm drawing, it seems almost impossible.

But after I finish, I think, 'That's easy. Anyone could do it with 10 minutes worth of patience.'

This would be, I guess, a recipe for depression.

I find the worst part is before I start, and that feeling of not being up to it. That goes away once I get into the work, & I find that not starting is more likely to cause the problems!

Cheers;

A specific passage of a drawing... right? Surely you aren't saying (an entire) drawing can be finished in 10 minutes.

if it was easy, everybody would/could do it. in fact the trick is often to make it look as if it was effortless however. this is true of many skills and arts/sports, it is the training and dedication however that give the end result that grace and simplicity.

The trick to drawing well is to do it all the time and to conquer your weaknesses, even thought the latter is particularly scarey and tough.

Of course. Or, more accurately, I meant an attention span of 10 minutes, where one might not finish anything.

I draw slowly. I have to leave it for 8 hours, to see glaring errors.

Perhaps you can use a mirror. It always helps me to see mistakes I wouldn't notice otherwise. Just look at your drawing through the mirror. And then there's of course squinting and holding it upside
