My 16 year old asked for an 'Eye Toy' for Christmas - an apparent 'plug-in' that works as a web cam for PS2 and allows your projected image to interact with objects in a game on tv.
So, for example, your body and your movements would actually move through a maze, pick up objects, talk to characters, touch them, etc.
This bothers me and I'm not sure why. Perhaps I am not comfortable with seeing myself or my dear flesh-and-blood children on tv talking to and interacting with transparent dragons, snowmen, or 50 foot tall ants! What if there's a WAR or Fighting game for this? I don't want to see me getting my ass kicked or worse, my kids being blown into digital bits!
That's EVIL... (As if nightmares weren't enough!)
I mean, that's just not right...
Virtual reality was safe to me because I could not afford such a toy. But this damn thing is 50 bucks and (already) the kids are buggin' me for it.

Your cultural programming is based upon knowledge. You know what the other person does not know - that gives you stature. In the modern world knowledge is constantly changing - your reference points are no longer valid and you may not be able to adapt.
