I was wondering what is the best oil paints on American market at these days?

Each of them says about themselves that they are the greatest and 'best deal' on market.

'Independent' information sources are very cautious in comparing and saying anything for sure... If you believe them - any paint by any manufacturer is great, but you buy the paints and start painting and you see that it is crap: Paints do not blend properly, too much oil not enough pigment, drying period of paints of the same class is different (which screws up almost everything...) etc...

What is the 'best' brand?

Naturally criteria are: More pigment itself, and less oil and inert fillings, good durability and oxidation resistance and ehhh-h-h... not over-priced ?

Bunch of new companies making some cheap paints from hell knows what components...

The best classic Holland and Italian paints (maximum pigment and oldest companies on market) seem to be too expensive...

So where is the golden mean ? Affordable and good quality oil paints ?
