The Dirty Word Art Project: Update

There are now THREE dirty word works on the site. Pretty impressive for a project that started only yesterday.

I've been hassling anyone and everyone I know to contribute

But Nik has rejected (so far) my 'FART' contribution, saying it is not a 'Swear Word.'

So I've asked him why he's suddenly emphasizing 'swear' over 'dirty' and am awaiting his reply.

In my culture, FART is NOT something you go around saying in polite company. And if he wants swear words, then words like cunt, prick, asshole etc are 'descriptors' or 'adjectives' - not, IMO, swear words. Swear words are 'exclamations' like 'aw shit, goddammit to hell, bloody hell,' etc.

And if one doesn't think a FART is 'dirty,' I doubt that anyone will argue about it being at least 'smelly.'

It's his game, so presumably he can play it any way he wants to.

I would certainly say that 'fart' is a dirty word - as is 'sewage', 'befouled', 'begrimed', 'sooty' and 'muddy'.

MY MISTAKE! In the process of manipulating the image I renamed the original instead of the digitally enhanced one. I've resent it with the comment that I don't give a fart whether or not you use it, but you should know that it WAS an original work on canvas - acrylic - and now it's the digitally altered version of same. I just didn't want you to miss seeing this great work of art! - whether or not you choose to use it.

You make my point. But Nik has been writing the rules as he goes along, which is his privilege, but it's not going to win him as many contributors. I'm taking my marbles and putting them back where they came from in any case. And sending Nik a butt plug by express mail...

Now the question becomes: If Nik has become the official custodian of the dirty word art salon then where can the rejects be shown? There is no reason why the rejects can't open the 'rec.arts.fine Reject Salon'
