I have a portrait painting on glass, it is thought to be between 80 & 100 yrs old, it is signed either I Kleinschmidt or J Kleinschmidt, anyone know anything about this artist? thanks in advance,

I can give you a hint. Just before WWI the 'Blue Rider' group of German Expressionists painted on glass. One of their members, Gabriela Munter, who was a Bavarian, taught Kandinsky and Marc and the others a Bavarian tradition of glass painting. It looks to me that your portrait comes out of this tradition, so I would start looking there

I don't have a reply for you but another question. I found your site by trying to find the name of another unknown artist. I have a painting entitled 'West Coast of Ireland' painted in 1923. Do you know where I might find the name of this artist??
