Good afternoon,

for a game called geocaching (see e.g. www.navicache.com for details) I need to solve a puzzle about an Italian sculptor. I've been searching the web for some hours now without success, so I hope one of you can help.

I need the name of the artist, the little information I got is:

He made a sculpture that is now on campus of Richland College, Dallas. Some hints: one of this Italian sculptor's half-century old bronze pieces is on the downtown walking tour of public art in a major American city. Another of his pieces is titled 'Susanna.'

Thank you for any hints and regards from Germany.

None of this strikes true to me, but you might try Pompeo Coppini, who was a prolific sculptor and has his works all over Texas, and elsewhere. Coppini emigrated from Italy around the turn of the 20th century and subsequently became a naturalized citizen of the USA.

Thanks Ami, Thanks Erik,

unfortunately it's neither Bufano nor Coppini.

Any more suggestions?

The problem with the puzzle is that, except for the Italian nationality, it could be any of hundreds of sculptors. And what does 'modern' mean in this context? The reason I suspected it could not have been Coppini is because he would have been horrified if someone had referred to him as 'modern.' He was a 'classical' sculptor who happened to live in the 'modern' era.

In any event, Richland College is a very new campus that is part of the Dallas Community College system and not a major college by any stretch. You can take a virtual tour of their campus online at:
http://www.rlc.dcccd.edu/campus.htm

And there are no sculptures of any kind that show in the photos online. Perhaps it's indoors?
