What happens if you apply oil glazes over acrylic? How can that contribute to the final look of the painting?

Technically, oil and acrylic don't have the same thinner so the layers won't be affected by one another. I believe the the oil coat may give depth to the painting. Which is sometimes missing in acrylic.
